Universal Transducer Adapters
Users of the Vantage System can readily adapt the system to work with transducers that have a range of connectors thanks to Verasonics' Universal Transducer Adapter (UTA). It is easy and takes only a few minutes to switch between UTAs. A set of screws are manually loosened, changes the UTA and re-tightens the screws. The Vantage system must be shut down before, and re-booted after, the UTA changeover
With the purchase of any Vantage system, one UTA adaptor is included. Additional adapters are available to meet changing research needs; older Vantage systems can be converted to the most recent UTA technology.
Key Benefits of the UTA:
- Enables use of high-performance, low noise connectors
- Allows for transducers up to 256 elements without a multiplexer
- Provides signal paths for probes requiring additional grounding, power supply, digital control signals, etc.
- Retains compatibility with Verasonics transducers, as well as transducers from a variety of supplier partners
Biomedical Research
The UTA 260-S has a single 260 pin connector and is available on the Vantage 128 and Vantage 64 LE.
The UTA 260-D has two 260 pin connectors and is available on the Vantage 256. Each connector provides signals for 128 channels.
These adapters provide compatibility with many Verasonics transducers and most refurbished HDI transducers manufactured by ATL Ultrasound.
The UTA 408-GE supports selected transducers from GE Healthcare, certain Verasonics transducers that use the GE pinout model, as well as custom probes using the GE 408 Backshell Kit. It is available on the Vantage 256, Vantage 128, and Vantage 64 LE.
The UTA 408 uses Verasonics’ pinout and is available on the Vantage 256 only. It allows direct connectivity for transducers with up to 256 elements without a multiplexer. The additional contacts provide grounding, digital signal control paths, and more
The UTA 360 is available on the Vantage 256 and provides compatibility with the MS-series of transducers from VisualSonics. These high frequency transducers have 256 elements, which are directly connected to the 256 channels through this adapter.
These transducers are compatible with Vantage high-frequency configurations
With up to 128 connectors for single element transducers, the UTA 128 LEMO and the UTA 64 LEMO adapters enable evaluation of new transducers and interrogation of complex structures. 2 LEMO to BNC adapters are included.
For users of Ultrasonix transducers the UTA 156-U provides compatibility between Vantage systems and selected Sonix transducers.
UTA 256 Direct is a simple and low-cost method to directly connect transducers with up to 256 elements to a Vantage system without the use of a multiplexer. Requires soldering micro-coax wires to termination boards.
The Vantage 32 LE system and the Vantage 64 system can operate standard Verasonics transducers with up to 128 elements when the UTA 260-MUX is used.
For research in 3D and volume acquisition techniques, the UTA 1024-MUX adapter provides support to operate matrix array transducers with up to 1024 elements. Transducers are available from Vermon and other leading transducer manufacturers.
